ABOUT MRS. GEORGE

//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

My name is Casandra George, and this will be my fifth year of teaching at W.J. Gurganus. I previously taught fourth grade, and I have now made my way to Kindergarten. I graduated from UNC Pembroke with a Bachelor's of Science in Elementary Education with a Concentration and Minor in Mathematics. I was also a part of the North Carolina Teaching Fellows Program while at UNC Pembroke.

Before UNC Pembroke, I spent my life in Havelock. I was born and raised in this sweet, small town. After graduation, I returned to Havelock to begin my career as a teacher and be with my loving husband, Ryan. Not only was I beginning my career as a teacher when I returned from college, but I was also beginning my lifelong career of being a mother. In January, my husband and I brought home a healthy baby boy, Kyedan. He is now a rambunctious three year old who loves trucks and everything dirty. Recently we welcomed another baby boy, Cayson. He is such a happy boy who loves to eat! Our family is not complete though without our family dog, Rusty. He is an energetic, attention-seeking black lab.

When I am not giving my attention to my boys, I love to find recipes to cook, spend time with my family members, and look at new, creative ways to incorporate in my classroom. I also like to help out my church's youth dance ministry by creating and designing their outfits and props with my mother in law. Like most people, I LOVE to save money! I normally do this with coupons!
